“The Scales of Justice!”

35 Comic Covers Depicting Lady Justice or Her Scales

From the Wikipedia:

“Iustitia, Justitia or Lady Justice (Latin: Iustitia, the Roman goddess of Justice, who is equivalent to the Greek goddess Themis) is an allegorical personification of the moral force in judicial systems.”

Her blindfold symbolizes impartiality, the idea that justice should be meted out objectively to all, and without fear or favour. The sword she holds in one hand represents punishment, while the balancing scales she holds in the other symbolizes the idea that all evidence must be weighed on its own merit.

Hmmm, justice, balance, punishment — say, do you think these concepts sound like things that would work in a superhero comic? Let’s find out!
